Pogostemon helferi, nicknamed "daonoi" or "downoi" which means "little star" in Thai, is a relatively new plant to the hobby that originates from Thailand. With its wavy leaf edges and short, compact, bushy growth, it is a unique plant that will stand out in the foreground or midground of any aquarium. It will grow taller under lower lighting and shorter in higher lighting. It's a relatively easy plant to care for, and can also be planted in the crevices of wood pieces, or grown as a carpet in substrate.
